Web Manager - Energy and Public Works

Description : Web Manager. Company : Energy and Public Works. Location : Brisbane QLD

The Strategic Communication and Engagement unit works to deliver strategic internal and external communication, media, marketing, online and creative services across the Department of Energy and Public Works (DEPW). The unit also develops and deploys high-level campaigns to promote energy, construction and procurement projects and initiatives to businesses and communities across Queensland.

As the Web Manager (AO8), you will be responsible for the technical aspects of EPW's websites.

You will lead the web team, which:

  • manages EPW's internet and intranet sites, including sections of the Queensland Government website
  • provides technical and publishing support, training and specialist web services, best practice advice and website redesign
  • conducts business analysis, content production, design and placement, and web brand management
  • manages contracts and technical administration for the content management system and related products.
As the Web Manager, you will be required to demonstrate:
  • Proven ability to provide effective leadership in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating a dynamic online environment, ensuring all output is aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in partnership and build influential and productive relationships across organisational and sector boundaries.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in an online services and/or project management context, in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the following applications would be highly regarded:
o Squiz Matrix
o HTML/XHTML
o Java, Javascript

While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as, marketing or journalism would be highly regarded.

The role necessitates someone who is both analytical and creative; who works across boundaries to ensure web, media, communication, engagement, design and social media are seamless.
